Sandy’s passions have been to help, serve and give back wherever she can.
With her background as a Middle School Counselor, a position she truly loved, she also opened up a new chapter afterwards with another passion on her heart … which was to help those caught up in the devastations of being sex trafficked and to give support and hope to those lives her and her team would touch.
With a vast array of experiences and developing multiple trainings to assist others, the paths of First Responders and ER Staff crossed requesting her team’s help in working with Victims of Trafficking.
Sandy developed trainings that focused upon the Victim’s trauma, how it impacted how they interacted with others, and shared hands-on ways that First Responders could make a real difference.
In addition, with the awareness of how Traffickers target and work to trick and manipulate our innocent Youth, Sandy began to research how to help put preventative measures in schools … only to discover it was offering more work to put on Teacher’s plates.
With this realization, she set out from a Counselor’s perspective along with her expert knowledge of the dangers of Human Trafficking, to create a Comprehensive Prevention Education Series that could easily be implemented into our schools.
Along this journey, a team of young people came along to be a part of this mission … and carry the voice of our Youth when sharing their knowledge as well.
With the creation of Project SHIELD our Team comes alongside to Educate, Protect, Empower and to serve YOUR School and Community!
