How do Traffickers get and keep their Victims?
Traffickers are Predators
A Predator is a person who looks for people they can use, control or harm to gain profit.
Traffickers operate in places that young people hang out and are always on the lookout for their next Victim.
Middle and High Schools are significant and frequent places for recruiting Youth and not just in low income neighborhoods.
Predators will comb the internet looking for signs of vulnerability such as posts or photos that stand out to them.
Photos that are revealing, depict a party life-style, or photos that show unhappiness with life and circumstances all attract the interest of Traffickers.

This is an unthinkable crime where Traffickers pose as someone they are NOT … a possible new boyfriend or girlfriend …and manipulate them in sending a nude or partially nude photo …To continue to get more photos they blackmail them by threatening to post these photos on their Social Media Sites for friends and family to see.
Teaching our Youth about the “Red Flags” to be aware of when on Social Media Sites can HELP STOP this tragedy from happening!
Predators are looking for a “crack” …
a weakness that can be exploited.
This is where the “Grooming” takes place … to fill the “void” … and create the illusion
of the dream that the Victim wants to believe will happen for them.

Let’s equip our Youth with the Knowledge to recognize the Dangers and PREVENT this from happening!
